I have been using Tarot with my friends, family, students, colleagues, and clients since 2012. For me, Tarot has been an essential tool for decision-making, amplifying intuitive information, and narrative problem solving. In my professional practice, I draw on Tarot as an archetypal intelligence and collectively constructed language to help people from all lived experiences sift through questions, crisis, decisions, and desires. Among many influences, my relationship with the cards has been informed by Christopher Marmolejo’s Red Tarot, Mari Tovar’s Gentle Tarot, the writings of Rachel Pollack, and training and study with my mother, NormaAlicia Pino. Highlights of my practice include:
- Using Tarot creatively in academic and corporate settings
- Custom spreads designed on the spot for the querent
- A non-judgmental space for difficult and complex issues
- No expectation to “believe” in Tarot
Areas of query and expertise include:
- Career and calling, especially in creative and non-normative careers
- Navigating and surviving within institutions, especially academia
- Love and intimate relationships, especially obsessive relationships
- Sexuality, gender, and self-expression, especially transness
- Decolonizing self-understanding and life trajectories
- Chicanx-specific cultural, familial, and spiritual troubles
- Addressing inherited and ancestral trauma
- Family dynamics, patterns, and impasses
- Seeking resolution and closure with people who have passed on
What Tarot and I can do for you:
- give you a logic structure to think through problems
- develop a narrative understanding helpful to your situation

What I cannot do:

What is a good length of reading?
1 hour: We’ll get right to the point. This works if you know exactly what your question is and don’t need it sugar-coated.
2 hours: We will co-create a card spread which reflects your question, allowing you to develop a useful narrative and/or visual metaphor for what is on your mind.
3 hours or more: Not sure what it is you need help with? Need time and space to really lose yourself in the cards? Wanting to use your reading to learn about Tarot? Need assistance in refining your question? Will you need a little extra time to process what comes up in the reading? A three-hour or more reading is recommended.

Testimonials:
“Migueltzinta creates a space during a tarot reading that is comfortable to speak and say what’s on your mind, while keeping you accountable and sometimes saying the hard things. Migueltzinta is an amazing person, and I’m deeply grateful to have met and had a reading done with him. I am a trans man, and it was very meaningful to have another trans man do my reading, with all his life experience and wisdom.”
“Migueltzinta is a gifted tarot reader with an extraordinary sensitivity to people and environments. His card reading has revealed unexpected insights and thoughtful interpretations that demonstrate a deep understanding of tarot. Trust is an important part of the process, and I always trust Migueltzinta to give an honest and thorough reading.”
“Just finished a tarot reading with Migueltzinta and I feel high on life. It’s the magic of the cards. It’s the clarity emerging through the questions. It’s the tenderness woven in the candid truth telling. It’s the queer imaginations and affirmation. It’s the feeling that yes indeed the path has been heavy but the wisdom we hold is shining bright today — and we’re painting luminous possibilities in our futures. Migueltzinta doesn’t just read the cards, Migueltzinta creates space for transformation.”
